Submission Guidelines:

Before you
start sculpting it's a good idea to take the time to read these important
submission criteria.
First of all,
originality is expected here. You can't go around copying someone else's
designs or artwork. A 3D copy of a 2D original is still a violation of
copyright, unless the original art is in the public domain, or you got
(written) permission from the artist.
The scale should be 28mm. This doesn't mean the figure has to be exactly 28mm sole to eye, but if it represents an adult, it should be pretty close to that scale. This being said, if you sculpt a miniature of someone of a younger age, or a non-human race, then by all means sculpt it in accordance. Be imaginative.

Secrecy clause:
In order to avoid any possible predisposition amongst judges, complete
secrecy is expected until after the contest. This means that we will pass
on all entries to the judges anonymously. To help us with this, you are
asked not to post pictures of your entries anywhere else and to refrain
from divulging your chosen subject on any public or private forums.
The competition
emphasises the sculptor’s complete responsibility: to make a nice
looking fig which can be cast. The practicality of making it will be judged
alongside the froth value and degree of craftsmanship. Sculpts that will require breaking into separate parts to make casting
possible are allowed, but wait with the separating until our mouldmaker
can give you instructions of what is required.
To enable
us to judge accurately, we will ask you to supply the best quality pictures
you can take, from different angles (3 to 4 shots should do). We would
recommend 300dpi at most and preferrably no more than 600 pixels in any
direction. Please send JPEG files compressed to 'best' quality (80-90%)
and files no larger than 150Kb (each). Remember to trim the image around
the figure, just like the pros do - we don't want to be downloading images
of your whole workdesk, complete with views over the Danube. At least
one of the pictures should have a ruler in it in order to judge the actual
size of the figure (you may submit the size comparison shot at a lower
size and/or quality - provided it is recognisably the same figure!).
Pictures can
be mailed to THIS EMAIL ADDRESS.
The judges may contact you to request additional pictures of your sculpt.
If you don’t own a good camera or your photography skills are in
line with those of some of our General Staff and you still wish to enter,
you can contact us if you wish to send your actual sculpt to us.
As we said earlier, categories
will be formed based on submissions. The figures have to fit in Froth Eisley: Spaceport setting, which means the someone or thing you might see at a spaceport.
You can enter as many different types of figures as you want that may fit in different
categories. All submissions will be added to the Contest Gallery.
Diorama's are not forbidden,
but in that case, make sure the figures can be removed and used as separate
game tokens.
In the same way vehicles etc are not forbidden, we can get items larger than figures cast in resin but please bear cast-ability and frothy-ness in mind. We do not want to stifle anyone's creativity, but a bubblegum machine or full diorama is unlikely to make a good gaming piece after all...

Feel free
to accompany your submission with a (brief) description of your inspiration
for the sculpt.
Before you
enter, it is important that you read these Competition Rules.
Deadline
for submissions is 1st July 2014, at midnight (UK-time)!
No, not really, it's the time I wake up the next morning, but you get the picture...
So reach for
that putty now and start sculpting, and who knows, the winning entry in
one of the categories could be yours...
